Project Beagle, Birmingham
Secret Fix Soffits, Reveals & Flashings
Project Beagle (also known as ‘Ingenuity House’) is Interserve’s new Headquarters and has become one of the most iconic buildings in the West Midlands. The design and construction of this five storey (27m high) building was a challenge for everyone involved and attention to detail with the external envelope was obviously paramount. Environmental impact was also a key consideration.
On this prestigious new build project, the JWD team supplied and fitted all of the secret fix soffit detailing, complete with support bracketry. Specially designed aluminium straights and curves were also supplied to match the curvature of the building, and all products were expertly installed using scissor lifts and cherry picker access.
Elsewhere, the external cladding package was installed by JWD’s sister company. The project architects specified a specially anodised vertical convex and concaved rainscreen cladding system to maximise the visual attraction of the building which changes in colour at different times of the day.
JWD’s Technical Support Team provided significant input throughout the project duration, ensuring that all works proceeded smoothly and on time. The end result is a contemporary, visually striking building that also successfully achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.
